Balaroga is the most important branch of Ashtang Ayurveda that deals with child health care throughout Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda, Kaumar means child of age 0 to 16 and Bhritya refers to care and hygiene. Kaumarbhritya is the science that provides preventive and curative measures from the fertilization of eggs to the development and growth of children up to the age of 16. It is the backbone of Ayurveda and human sciences. Ayurvedic scholars believe that care during this period is the backbone of the whole life of an individual. The physiological participation of Dosh, mala and Dushysa are different in children as compared to adult therefore thetype and prevalence of diseases are also different in children and thus pediatric care needed utilization of various approaches for the management of children diseases.

This branch deals with neonatal care, infant feeding, diet for newborn, daily and seasonal regime and also deals with diseases and disorders relating to children including nutrition of children including nutrition of children immunization etc.

AIM

  • Primary aim of the Balaroga Department is the physical,mental,and social wellbeing of children,because children are the future of the nation.
  • Prevention of the diseases in children by boosting their immunity with the help of the Suvarnaprashan,Vaccination.

OBJECTIVES

  • Department takes effort to prepare best clinicians, academicians and socially aware person during college life.
  • To give detailed knowledge of Balroga to students through innovative teaching techniques.
  • To provide optimum neonatal and child care to reduce the neonatal,infantile and pediatric morbidility and mortality.
  • To prevent complications of inadequate resuscitation.
  • To develop peadiatric hospital as qualify oriented and result driven commercial enterprises,operating in fiercely competitive global environment.

Facilities

  • Department is running with regular OPD & with special high risk clinics.
  • Neonatal care unit and neonatal check up in PNC Ward and in OPD.
  • Special Ayurveda treatment for specific childhood diseases like behavioural disorders , skin diseases etc.
  • Special panchakarma procedures for various kinds of childhood diseases.
  • Counselling sessions to be performed by expert doctors to parents in view of, to modulate their view on neurological development and its importance in children.
  • IPD facilities, also available in hospital with well trained doctors.
  • Arranging various child health care programmes like suvarna prashan camp, school health check up, vaccination programme, yoga and pranayam camps.
